You can also enjoy a warming aperitif in our licensed bar. All guests receive FREE membership of Parklands Country Club offering sauna, swimming pool, steam bath and much more. Each of our delightful en-suite bedrooms are tastefully decorated with warm inviting colours. Each room features a TV, radio, and hospitality tray. For added convenience, every room is thoroughly cleaned for a fresh and immaculate appearance each day. Please note: during bank holidays we have a min three night stay policy, our cancellation policy is as follows, cancellation within 14 days loss of deposit ( £50 on hotel bookings ) outside 14 days there is a £20 admin charge only, please note that 30% deposit is charged on both of our cottages, cancellation within three days of day of arrival will result in total cost of stay being charged.
Windermere is the central location for touring the Lake District. The Glenburn Hotel and River Cottage are ideally situated within easy walking distance of the village, with its fine selection of shops, bistros and restaurants.
A little further down the road brings you to Lake Windermere in Bowness. There you can take one of the many boat trips on offer, visit the Beatrix Potter museum or spend the day just browsing the wonderful shops. This is also where Parkland Country Club, our complimentary leisure club, is situated, which has something for everyone and every age.
It's easy to get away from the crowds too, with stunning countryside just a short distance away. A private car park at the front and rear of the hotel provides ample free parking for all rooms and for those on foot the railway station is within easy walking distance.
Directions
From the M6: Exit junction 36 and follow signs to Windermere on the A591. When you see the Windermere Hotel take the next left turning sign-posted "Windermere and Bowness on Windermere". Continue past the shops and carry on down New Road, heading towards Bowness and the lake. The hotel can then be found on the lefthand side just before the park and stone clock tower.
