This charming Victorian building is part of Lakeland's heritage. The hotel offers comfortable accommodation with fifteen bedrooms, most of which are en-suite, in a relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere. We also have budget accommodation for backpackers and travellers. We provide delicious food and real ales served in both the restaurant and The Lamplighter Bar. We specialise in fresh fish dishes. We have a large car park and are only two minutes from both coach and rail stations, close to excursion buses and one of the finest viewpoints in Lakeland, Orrest Head is only a short stroll away.

They are very happy to advise you on any walks and have maps to assist you. They can also book you on to tours and make dinner reservations for you at one of the many excellent restaurants in the surrounding area, or beyond.

The house is situated opposite Ellerthwaite Park and is a gentle 20-minute walk from Lake Windermere itself.

The Ravensworth has an excellent location from which to explore the many attractions of the Lake District National Park. The region’s stunning scenery and beautiful landscapes are just a short walk away, while all the shops, pubs, restaurants and amenities of Windermere village are within easy reach.

The Willowsmere was built around 1865 as a Lakeland cottage and extended around 1875 as a country home for a well-to- do Victorian family. It has been tastefully restored and renovated to a high standard and includes the luxuries that you would expect when staying in a fine English hotel. The guest house has thirteen en suite bedrooms, all with those little extras that make your stay a pleasant and relaxing one. There are two lounges for guest use and a secluded landscaped garden where you can enjoy a drink from the well-stocked cellar.
